We now have a shiny new fence. I took pictures of the before, during, and after. Please ignore the patches in the grass. We’re working on it.
Overall we are happy with the new fence it provides more privacy and looks so much better. Previously our neighbors could see straight into our backyard from their kitchen window.
In an unfortunate turn of events the day after our fence was installed our A/C unit died. The air conditioner was running and seemed to be working fine. Alexis noticed that the house wasn’t cooling off and in fact it was getting warmer. I tried looking at things and found that the fan on the unit outside wasn’t turning. Then I called the number printed on the interior unit and a technician came out to diagnose the problem. Well, he may have been a “technician”, but was clearly a salesman as well. The estimate he gave us to replace our system was ludicrous. He was clearly trying to take advantage of us. A second quote later and we’re having a new reasonably priced A/C system installed this week. To top it off we’re increasing the air flow to the office, which is nice because I seem to spend a lot of time in there.
It’s a little unnerving that that these two fairly large expenses occurred so close together. We are doing fine financially, so there’s no need to worry about us.
