“Cat”astrophe

It wasn’t as bad as the title implies, but yesterday Atticus and Minna met my Mom’s cats, Xena and Zelda, at our house. Hissing and growling ensued as soon as they met. Our cats did not appreciate the company and confined themselves to comfortable areas while the other two roamed freely. Atticus was more vocal and more stagnant than Minna. After it became clear that Atticus and Minna were simply not going to budge, possibly forgoing food, water, and litter box, I suggested that Xena and Zelda be taken back home. Perhaps their next meeting will go smoother.

Those that have talked to me within the past couple of weeks know that I’m excited about Geocaching. Wikipedia defines Geocaching as “an outdoor activity in which the participants use a Global Positioning System (GPS) receiver or other navigational techniques to hide and seek containers (called “geocaches” or “caches”) anywhere in the world.” The key word in that definition is “outdoor”. I need to get out of the house and get to know more of the Metroplex and surrounding areas. It should be a great way to find trails, parks, and scenic areas. I’ll be sure to post about my first find and subsequent adventures.

August Finale

Alexis and I have spent the majority of our weekends in August working on the master bathroom. Here’s the latest pictures:

We managed to squeeze in a movie one weekend and saw District 9 , which was very gory and awesome. The main character is detestable in the beginning of the movie. You absolutely wish he would get hit by a bus, but by the end of the film you sympathize with him. It had a great mix of story and action. Talking about it makes me want to go see it again.

I also want to wish my nephew, Hunter, a happy 1st birthday and congratulate Dustin and Shannon for surviving a year of poopy diapers and long nights.

Dog Tired

Last weekend was great. This weekend was work. Last weekend we spent time with Dustin, Shannon, and Hunter. We saw the new Harry Potter movie, went to Dave & Busters, and bought materials for the home improvement project. Dustin and Shannon weren’t present for our trip to Lowe’s. The movie was good, but it lacked action toward the end.

This weekend we managed to cut the 2x4s and nail everything in place without the use of a nail gun. Cutting wasn’t fun and neither was nailing. That’s all I have to say about that. Need sleep.
