Golf Pro, I’m Not

This weekend my brother and his wife came into town. We got together and went to Dave and Busters to eat dinner. Alexis and I arrived late and found Dustin hitting golf balls in front of a golf simulator. We were both drawn back by how dangerous it looked. He was seriously knocking the ever loving crap out of these golf balls and smacking them against a padded wall with a golf course projected onto it. After we decided it was safe, we had a seat at the table and tried not to flinch everytime he hit a ball. After a few minutes/beers I finally got up the courage to have a go. I have never been to an actual golf course, but when I was young we would hit some balls around a park with my Dad’s old golf clubs. I don’t think we broke anything. If anything was broken I’m sure it was my brother’s fault and not mine, seriously. Anyway, all we had was a couple of irons. So when I tried my hand at the golf simulator I totally missed (several times) when I used the wood clubs. Needless to say I was quite embarrassed, but my stubborness kicked in and I embarrassed myself even more until I finally hit one over an extremely large water hazard.

Still Here

This is my first post this year. I got caught up in so many things and I’m off my routine. Not that I had much of a routine to begin with. Shortly after the new year I put together a wicked computer. It’s the first time I got the courage to build my own computer. Here’s the parts I bought:

  • ASUS A8N-SLI Premium ATX AMD Motherboard
  • AMD Athlon 64 X2 4400+ Toledo 1GHz FSB Socket 939 Dual Core Processor
  • ASUS Geforce 7800GTX EN7800GTX/2DHTV/256 Video Card
  • Thermaltake Silent Pure Power 680W Power Supply
  • Maxtor DiamondMax 200GB 7200 RPM Serial ATA150 Hard Drive
  • CORSAIR XMS 2GB (2 x 1GB) 184-Pin DDR SDRAM

All this in a cool case.
